I don't know if you have heard the story called 'Acres of Diamonds', but it is a true story that carries an incredible lesson in life. The story is about a farmer in South Africa that kept reading about how diamond prospectors were making millions in Africa discovering diamonds.
He promptly sold his farm at a bargain price and left to prospect for diamonds. He prospected all over the continent but was unable to find diamonds. He found himself with all of his money gone, in poor health and depressed. With nothing to live for, he threw himself into a river and drowned.
The farmer that bought the land did his best farming the rock covered terrain as well. As he worked the land he found an unusual stone along the creek that ran through his farm. Seeing it being interesting he chose to keep it and put it next to his fireplace.
A friendly neighbor stopped by to visit. As they were sitting next to the fireplace he commented that the stone did look unusual and examined it. He said that he believed it had to be a diamond. The largest diamond in history was sitting there on the farmer's fireplace and proved to be worth a fortune. The farmer commented to his neighbor, "My farm is covered with these pesky rocks that make it almost impossible to grow good crops."
The story continues that the original farmer sold his land at a bargain so he could pursue his dream of wealth by prospecting for diamonds across Africa. Little did he know that he was sitting on top of the one of the most prosperous, richest diamond mines of the world.
Hopefully you are getting the message. Many of us believe we must venture forth into areas we know little about in pursuit of our goals when the resources for attaining success are immediately at hand. The resource of which I am speaking is people. People in your family, people you work with, people in your neighborhood, your friends; a huge natural resource.
YOUR ACRES OF DIAMOND ARE ALL AROUND YOU
If you are a new member your sponsor has probably told you about the Company Car Program, the Travel Program and the sizable earning potential. You want to believe these are possible but, right now, there's only one person in your organization; you. Don't be intimidated because you don't have to do it alone. Imagine what could happen in twelve months if you only sponsored two people and each person you sponsor only sponsors one new person per month. Your organization would have a total of 4,095 people in the twelfth month. No one can guarantee this will happen but, the power of multiplication is real and in fact some have built organizations larger in one year.
I'm hoping you recognize that you are sitting on your own Acres of Diamonds. Did you know that adults over the age 21 know at least 500-700 people? Sit down with a piece of paper and pen, or your computer, and start making a list of everyone you know. Mark those that have success in their hearts. Mark those with whom you have a good, friendly relationship. Then, choose you top candidates to start out with.
Profiles of your top candidates:
Married, Have Children, Employed, Own a Home, Age 25+, MLM experience, Health conscious, Involved in a church, Licensed in Insurance, Licensed in Real Estate, Etc.
Good candidates will accelerate your success in this MLM marketing program. You want to list people you know have a strong desire for success. It may take several days to reach your 100 in your local area. Jot them down as you go through your days and add them to your list. You may want to concentrate in your local area; 40-50 miles for one list. Then, create another list of your long distance prospects. You can provide full information and support for those who live thousands of miles away by using the internet.
You have now made your first list of 100. It's time to reduce that list to your top 24. The top 24 who you believe have the 'right stuff' to be successful in your program. Send your list to your sponsor. Don't ever forget that your sponsor has as much interest in you being successful as you do. Draw upon that support and have your sponsor help you contacting those on your list.
ANYONE RECRUITED OR ANY PROSPECTS RECEIVED ARE YOURS. Your sponsor is working for you to provide you with an ever-increasing monthly income. To speed the growth of your organization your sponsor will work with you via telephone and meetings. A phone script will be provided so you will know exactly what to say. The appointments can be set-up at various times and locations.
Example Meeting Places:
At your home, your prospect's home or office, breakfast meetings, internet cruises, internet webinars are all examples of places that work.
The best training is when you set the appointment and call your sponsor in to make the business presentation. Sit back, relax and learn as you watch your sponsor talk about the company, the products, the opportunity, the compensation plan and how to get started. Soon, you will be able duplicate what he/she is doing.
One of the rules of the program is that prospects that are developed in the 'warm market' approach are treated with the greatest level of respect and care. Your prospect's feelings will not be hurt through this process that is detailed in quality three way interview scripts. Assuming your prospect shows interest they will be invited to the next step which is typically an in-home meeting or hotel conference room presentation.
THERE IS MAGIC IN 'EXPONENTIAL GROWTH'
Conservatively, you can expect to sponsor 5-10 of the 100 prospects on your list. Now you have 500-1000 new prospects from your group. Project the same conservative figures and you can expect 50-100 to be sponsored.
Exponential growth and multi-level marketing are two powerful forces that when combined create incredible incomes and wonderful lifestyles. Exponential growth is best expressed in numbers... say you find five you join the company and then teach them to find five and then teach them to teach their people how to find five.
