Different Features of a Citizen Watch

By David Cardoza

A citizen watch is a product of Citizen Holdings Co. Ltd. - a Japanese corporation located in Nishitokyo, Japan. This company was founded in the year 1918 and was formerly named as Shokosha Watch Research Institute. It was just during the year 1930 when it acquired its current name. It has an estimated 252.5 billion Yen in total revenue during the year 2010 and has an estimated 37.5 billion Yen for its net income. As if March 31, 2010, the company has employed at least 16,813 people to its company.

Citizen watches started to be sold as a pocket time piece during the year 1924. And since the company has been in the business for quite some time already, they are now considered to be one of the biggest companies when it comes to manufacturing luxury watches.

The company manufactures different types of Citizen Watches that have different features like the following listed below:

* Eco drive - This type of time piece is equipped with a permanent battery that is rechargeable by using the solar panel that is also inside the time piece. The solar panel is however usually under the face of the time piece. Each model that is equipped with an eco drive feature is mostly manufactured in Japan and China. * Automatic Timekeeping - this feature is using a technology called radio control timekeeping system. This means that the time piece can match the same time in the radio clocks of Japan, North America and Europe. It also has the ability to automatically select the correct time depending on your location. Each time piece that is equipped with this feature uses two time zones (home and world). You manually select the time zone to get the correct time. You can also set the DST time by synchronizing everything. * Contemporary style - this particular line that the company produce are the ones that catches up with the current trend because it features a more modern look and face. * Collector's item - For a more expensive price, the company also manufactures a line that is mostly limited edition which is perfect for any collector. The most common models for this line would be the Blue Angels and the Red Arrows.

Citizen watches can be expensive if you are getting the top of the line models. But you can also have a great chance of getting them at a lower price from auction stores or from sellers who sells pre owned items.
