Here's How To Use Facebook.com And Acquire Higher Rankings On Google

By Jimmy Moore

In the last issue we spoke of using Facebook ads to increase your business even more. In this issue we are going to talk about social media management for improved search engine rankings and traffic.

There have been reports popping out that Facebook draws in more traffic than Google Ads and other traffic-sending tools. Whether this is true or not, it's not shocking to know that many other marketers are jumping in the bandwagon to try out Facebook marketing for themselves also because this way is a lot cheaper and much simpler to set up.

Here are some more tips on how to pull traffic from search engines straight to your Facebook page:

Create Plenty Of High-quality One-way links

You'll find a number of ways you can lead your potential clients and customers towards your page. It's just certainly one of the many rewards of using Facebook. You can do this through backlinks depending on the number of 'Likes' that you incur. This is also known as on-site optimization.

The offsite way is to build links using other websites such as your official website, article publication sites, other social networking sites, email signatures and so on. Article submission is one of the least expensive, yet most effective ways to build backlinks. Not only that, they also allow you to presell to your prospects before getting to your main page.

- Use A Professional Business Name

While it's good to be creative with your profile and updates, the same does not follow for your Facebook name. Of course, you need your name to be easily searchable in Facebook. This maximizes your target keywords much better. The name should not serve as sales pitch so don't try to stuff them too much with descriptions unless you need to differentiate your name with a similar business name. For instance, if your business name is Jonathan's Fruits Shakes, and there's another business name that sounds similar, how about changing yours into "Jonathan's Healthy Fruit Shakes"

The same goes for vanity URLs. This is a fairly innovative addition to Facebook features supposedly placed to make the searching for your Fan page easier. Again, don't try to be too crazy or creative. Go for something straightforward such as facebook.com/jeremiahsfruitshakes.

- Your Profile Should Be Comprehensive

What can be a more critical aspect than your landing page on Facebook? From here, customers will consider whether they want to read on and explore the other parts of your profile or not. So answer completely as much as possible. Provide exciting content in your About Page.

Make sure you place keyword rich content in your squeeze page. Try to place in words that are most searchable in your industry, so Google and other search engines can easily pick them up. Also, take advantage of customer feedback or testimonials as these will help you attract more prospects. This will add reliability to your page and to your brand in general.

It is not recommended though, with all the advantages that Facebook has in case you were thinking of such action, to use the Fan or Business Page in lieu of an official website. Facebook only adds another dimension to the logistics of online marketing.
