All About Carpet Squares And Their Rising Popularity

By Lucienne Mahalko

At times referred to as carpet tiles or modular tiles, carpe squares are cutouts in the shape of tiles, and are meant for installing onto floors. Initially, these were used in commercial establishments. Just the same, in recent years, they have surged in popularity, and they are now used in many residential facilities, from homes to apartments to condos.

One thing people love about carpet tiles is how easy they are to put in. However, on account of their sudden upsurge in popularity, their prices have gone up by a lot. It is not only in verandas that they are used, but in porches as well.

Much loved in locations frequented by many on a regular basis, they are likewise as appreciated in many schools and airports. Carpet squares are not difficult to clean, either. Naturally, in places frequented by many, they are more susceptible to wear, at which point, they can be taken out, fixed, and then put back in.

This is not something that will take a lot of time to do, and this will not get in the way of the place's daily operations. Pieces that get some stains or damage on them can easily be replaced. Initially, when these tiles are first put in, it may seem as if they look out of place, but this is only at first. Eventually, they will look just like the other squares.

Many years ago, these tiles cost more than broadloom carpets, and this is why very few customers were interested in them, especially ones that just wanted some cover for their floor, and so shelling out a considerable amount of cash was deemed excessive, not to mention unwise.

On account of this, no one really wanted to buy carpet squares - not until recently.

First and foremost, plenty of tile sizes are widely available, and can be readily purchased. A great number of materials are also available, and they can be purchased at a size of as much as 6 ft., while there are also ones that measure only 3 ft. and 1 ft. For materials, there is woven polypropylene, as well as vinyl fiberglass, reused vinyl back, urethane back, vinyl-back, fiberglass, etc.

Some pile designs are cut-pile and loop-pile, and because each tile has its own personality, who's to say that one tile is far more superior than another?
