Gain More Profit By Selling Used Books Online

By Macy DeLuca

Anyone that is in college is familiar with how much textbooks cost to purchase, and how little you get in return when you sell them back to the bookstore. It is a huge money making situation for the company, and a big loss for the student. It is outrageous that you will only get a few pennies on the dollar in return.

Schools and bookstores are making big bucks from doing this, and student's are stuck in the middle because they need books.

There is a way to beat the system, and keep the bookstore from making any more money off of you than is necessary. Sell your textbooks on the internet, and you can get more money from your used books, and the best thing is that you can get a lot more back than you would from the bookstore.

Ebay.com or Amazon.com are the two sites to go to in order to have the best chance to sell your books for a great price. Ebay charges a small percentage when you sell your book, and a lot of people visit the site.

Amazon differs from Ebay because people think they are buying their books from a company and somebody that may rip them off. While this is not true, perception is everything and that may help move your book faster. Also, Amazon.com is known for selling books in the first place. They will charge you a listing fee that will be based on your asking price, but you don't have to pay anything unless you actually sell your book.

There are also other places online that you may be able to sell your books at. Craigslist may be an option, but it is doubtful that someone in your area is on there looking for the same book you have. Stick with the big auction sites and you will have the best chance of success.

You will do better there because they have a more established and trusted platform, and you can get reviews which will increase your credibility over time.

Also, getting a paypal account is an absolute necessity to receive funds when you sell your books. It is easy to set up, and only takes seconds to get paid.
