However if you cannot afford to pay for it at the beginning Google Keywords tool is free and will show you the amount of people searching for that Keyword on a monthly basis!
You want to pick a Keyword that has enough traffic to make it worth while targeting and that is relevant to your business but with the lowest competition possible!
Make sure the Keyword is likely to pull in targeted traffic that will join your list and buy products. There's no points picking Keywords where people expect information and help for free eg Free "Keyword".
