The WWE Network & Potential Online Marketing Strategies

By Arthur Williams

One of the biggest pieces of news, surrounding pro wrestling, has been the landmark one million subscriber count of the WWE Network. Seeing as how this was the company's goal, for quite a number of months, it's good to see that this number has been reached. With that said, I believe that it's important to look at how this kind of service can benefit from online marketing services. If you're curious as to what this may entail, read on.

Of course, there have been problems with the WWE Network since its inception. Even though many of the technical problems have been ironed out, which is a positive, there are still those who are unsure about subscribing. WWE recognized this, though, and made it a point to offer certain months free for new subscribers. This, along with the no-commitment model of the Network in question, has only helped to make the level of entry that much easier.

My main source of contention, though, has been the WWE Network's slow output of content. With a service that is, supposedly, the pro wrestling version of Netflix, one would expect the library to expand over the course of time. This is why I feel like it's important for WWE to be more consistent with its upload of older content. There's also the idea of newer, unique shows, which have been able to draw in viewers and keep subscribers coming back for more.

If you want to talk about greater online marketing strategies, there are quite a few which can help the WWE Network in the long term. Advertising can be done on this platform, which goes without saying, and the services linked to firms the likes of fishbat can prove to be more than useful. You have to consider that said firms have been able to use websites like Facebook and Twitter, which is effective to say the least. However, it is the way that propositions are made that helps to create results.

In my view, the WWE Network is not going to have many problems when it comes to eventual success. The landmark of one million subscribers cannot be overlooked, especially with the usage of platforms related to social media being brought into the fold. Despite WWE's focus on social media, Twitter being one of the more prominent examples, it can always benefit from a bit more help. This may even help another one million subscribers to be hooked before long.
