The Benefits Of A Waring Convection Oven

By Jason Eve

There are many ways that a Waring convection oven is superior not only to traditional ovens, but to the microwave which many thought would replace them both. When the microwave first came out, it was an instant success, and nearly as instant a disappointment. It was quickly discovered that it was not going to replace any other ovens.

Convective ovens became quite popular because they were smaller and more efficient than the traditional style. By circulating heat with a fan, inside a smaller space, food was able to be cooked much more quickly. Most of them actually recommend that people cook food in them fifty degrees cooler than what they would generally use in traditional ovens.

Microwaves were never going to be able to replace traditional ovens, because they do not actually cook or brown food. It simply heats already cooked food by allowing microwaves to pass through the glass or plastic and heat the moisture inside the food. Other than baked potatoes, microwaves never worked as a proper replacement to traditional cooking methods.

The only thing a microwave is really good for is reheating left over foods, or heating frozen ready-made meals. Being able to reheat leftovers is certainly a benefit of a microwave. The ready-made foods became quite popular through the eighties and nineties, making meal preparation easier for busy families.

Unfortunately, most of these ready-made meals have contributed to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. They contain a number of unhealthy preservatives, and are generally high in cholesterol and sodium. Microwaved food has come to be known as nutritionally deficient, and some households have actually gotten rid of them.

The Waring convection oven can provide one with the best of both. It can cook much more quickly than the conventional style, but it does not irradiate the food as a microwave does. They are also smaller than traditional ovens, which makes them perfect for motor homes and travel trailers.
