Being a leader is all about how you act in different situations, specially if you are in a position of power where your decisions can affect others.

Problem solving is also key, if you make a habit of finding answers to common problems that might come up in your business or workplace then in time people will come to you when a new issue arises. Knowing how to handle any problem is important, by focusing on solutions and not the problem you will be look at as the problem solver. Another great characteristic of being a leader is always keeping your word, not only in business but also in everyday life.

Make sure you prepare ahead of time prior to speaking to your team. Brainstorm potential questions they could ask. Come up with answers to any potential question. When you're able to answer questions, the team will have more respect for you. This is also a time-saving skill for being an effective leader.

Some people will say that leaders are born, but we believe that leaders can be made if you are willing to work hard to develop the necessary skills.
